Salil D Joins AbCoffee as Vice President of People and Innovation

Salil D has recently joined AbCoffee as the Vice President of People and Innovation, bringing with him an impressive background in talent and people management across the food and retail industries. Salil has over 15 years of experience working with renowned brands, where he has consistently contributed to strengthening team competencies, enhancing learning strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation.

Prior to joining AbCoffee, Salil held the position of Head of Training at Pizza Hut, where he spent over eight years focusing on learning and development strategies to ensure staff readiness and high standards in operations. His role involved overseeing comprehensive training programs, compliance management, and data analysis to support the brand’s growth across regions. His expertise in performance management and data-driven learning solutions has been instrumental in creating efficient and agile teams.

Before his impactful tenure at Pizza Hut, Salil served as the National Head for Talent Management & Organizational Development at Aditya Birla Retail Limited. There, he designed learning frameworks, developed course content, and implemented succession planning models that promoted continuous employee growth. His work involved collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals, showcasing his proficiency in cultivating long-term talent strategies.

Salil’s career journey also includes his role as State Head of Training at Metro Cash & Carry, where he led training initiatives for new store openings in Andhra Pradesh. His leadership helped the Hyderabad store become the first HACCP-certified store among Metro outlets in India, a testament to his dedication to operational excellence and employee development.
