Arvinder Singh Sahney Appointed as Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation
Arvinder Singh Sahney has been appointed the Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil), a significant advancement in his illustrious career spanning nearly three decades. A chemical engineer from Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, Sahney began his journey with IndianOil in 1993. Over the years, he has excelled in multiple domains, including refinery operations, technical services, health, safety, and environmental management, as well as petrochemicals.
One of Sahney’s notable achievements was overseeing the commissioning of the 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery, a project that greatly enhanced India’s refining capacity and contributed to the nation’s energy security. His deep technical expertise and leadership were instrumental in the success of this large-scale initiative, reflecting his commitment to advancing IndianOil’s capabilities.
Before assuming the role of Chairman, Sahney led the petrochemical vertical at IndianOil, where he spearheaded the conceptualization of several transformative projects. Among these was the Paradip Petrochemical Complex, a mega facility poised to significantly enhance IndianOil’s footprint in the petrochemical sector. His vision has been integral to the company’s strategic growth in this area.
In addition to his new role, Sahney chairs Terra Clean, a wholly owned subsidiary of IndianOil focused on sustainable solutions, and serves as a director at IndOil Montney Ltd, Canada, another subsidiary. His leadership is expected to drive IndianOil’s efforts to deliver innovative energy solutions while maintaining a strong emphasis on sustainability and global competitiveness.
