Sudip Mukkawar has appointed as Director of Business Development at Lotus Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, where he is now based in Hyderabad leading strategic licensing and market expansion efforts. His work focuses on driving growth across global territories while strengthening Lotus Pharma’s portfolio through high-impact partnerships and commercial collaborations. With experience spanning LATAM, APAC, Africa, and MENA, he brings a deep understanding of international markets and complex generics.
Before this, Sudip served at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in Hyderabad, where he progressed to Lead Business Development for Emerging Markets. He spearheaded in-licensing initiatives for complex generics and 505(b)(2) formulations, accelerating portfolio expansion across key regions. His ability to identify meaningful assets, build alliances with suppliers across Europe, China, India and Turkey, and secure competitive products positioned him as a strong force in strategic global licensing. Earlier as Senior Business Development Manager, he managed in-licensing for LATAM markets, driving commercial growth and strengthening the company’s regional presence.
Sudip’s most transformative leadership chapter came during his tenure at Hetero, where he served as Country Manager for Taiwan. He established Hetero’s first Indian pharma subsidiary in Taiwan, managed complete P&L ownership, built distributor networks, influenced regulatory pathways, and drove first-to-market generic strategies. His earlier role as Manager – Business Development, APAC enabled him to shape market entry strategies, expand distributor ecosystems, and manage direct and subsidiary-led operations across several Asian countries including Myanmar, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, and Taiwan.
His career began with impactful business development roles at Aizant Drug Research Solutions, MSN Laboratories, and Ipca Laboratories, where he strengthened his expertise in international marketing, licensing, dossier sales, tech transfer, and product management across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and regulated markets. With more than a decade of experience across business development, in-licensing, strategic market expansion, and P&L leadership, Sudip continues to drive strong commercial outcomes and build global pathways for pharmaceutical growth.
