Gurpreet Singh has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Kiwi General Insurance Limited, marking a major milestone in his distinguished career across insurance, manufacturing, FMCG, and structured military training. In this strategic role, he will lead the organisation’s people strategy, culture transformation, organisation development, and talent interventions aimed at strengthening Kiwi’s fast-growing workforce. His appointment underscores Kiwi’s commitment to building a future-ready, agile, and people-centric HR ecosystem that supports its expanding national footprint.
With a career defined by progressive leadership and multi-sector versatility, Gurpreet brings deep expertise in HR governance, performance enablement, employee experience, and workforce transformation. His strong understanding of both strategic and operational HR makes him uniquely positioned to align people priorities with Kiwi’s long-term business ambitions. Across each phase of his journey, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to build capable teams, elevate HR processes, and deliver sustainable organisational impact.
Prior to joining Kiwi General Insurance, Gurpreet spent nearly six impactful years at TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd., where he advanced through roles including Zonal HR Head, Deputy Vice President, and ultimately Vice President – HR. During his tenure, he led complex workforce planning, talent management, leadership engagement, and multi-region HR governance. His contributions played a key role in strengthening HR operations and enabling TATA AIG’s strategic people agenda across diverse markets.
Before his transition into the insurance sector, Gurpreet enriched his expertise through leadership roles in manufacturing and FMCG. He served as Senior Manager – HR at Godrej & Boyce, where he managed large-scale HR initiatives across business units. His earlier roles as Manager – Human Capital at EPL Limited (Essel Propack) and Manager – HR at SuperMax involved driving IR strategies, plant HR operations, employee engagement, and capability-building programs. This exposure provided him with strong operational grounding and a deep understanding of workforce dynamics in high-intensity environments.
Gurpreet’s early professional foundation is rooted in discipline and resilience, shaped by his tenure as a Gentleman Cadet at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Army, followed by a successful stint as a Financial Advisor at MetLife. These experiences strengthened his leadership intuition, people-centric mindset, and ability to navigate complex human interactions—qualities that continue to define his HR leadership approach today. As CHRO at Kiwi General Insurance, he is poised to accelerate cultural transformation and build HR systems that support the organisation’s next phase of growth.
