Ajay Vaswani has been appointed as Head of Distribution – India & Global Indians at Ashmore. In his new role, he will lead fundraising, sales and distribution, marketing, and business development functions for Ashmore across India and among global Indian investors.
Before joining Ashmore, Ajay served as President & Chief Business Officer – Alternate Investment Funds at The Investment Trust of India Limited (formerly Fortune Financial), where he also led the ITI Growth Opportunities Fund and ITI Long-Short Equity Fund. He played a pivotal role in building the firm’s AIF business, focusing on long-term strategies and investor engagement.
Previously, Ajay held leadership positions with Anand Rathi Financial Services Limited, where he served as Head of Preferred Clients (Mumbai), and with Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd as Cluster Head for Wealth Management. His experience includes driving high-net-worth client engagement and expanding the wealth management portfolio in key financial markets.
Earlier in his career, Ajay worked with Edelweiss Financial Services, Religare Private Wealth, and HDFC Bank, where he developed deep expertise in private banking, investments, and relationship management. His extensive experience in wealth management and investment distribution uniquely positions him to strengthen Ashmore’s presence and investor relationships across emerging markets.
