Vinay Kumar, PMP®, has been appointed as Lead S&SC – FBS at Ashok Leyland, marking another milestone in his extensive career across procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain transformation. In this role, he continues to leverage his deep expertise in SAP, MES, and operational excellence to drive resilient and future-ready supply chain frameworks.
Before joining Ashok Leyland, Vinay served as Purchase Manager at JCB India Ltd., where he led global procurement operations, drove SAP-enabled digitization, and managed a diverse supplier base across seven countries. His earlier tenure as Purchasing Specialist at CNH Industrial strengthened his ability to navigate complex sourcing challenges, including component localization during global supply chain disruptions.
Vinay’s leadership journey includes impactful contributions at Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Private Limited and JCB India Ltd., where he delivered significant cost savings, accelerated NPD procurement cycles, and enhanced vendor capability. His earlier responsibilities at Mahindra & Mahindra and Electro-Motive Diesel further shaped his strategic approach, enabling successful product launches, logistics optimization, and supplier development initiatives across large-scale manufacturing environments.
He began building his strong procurement foundation at VE Commercial Vehicles Limited and TATA Motors, where he streamlined sourcing processes, improved supplier turnaround, and aligned procurement operations with manufacturing and product development objectives. Across all roles, Vinay has been recognized for his strategic thinking, structured execution, and ability to strengthen supply chains through technology, collaboration, and high-impact sourcing strategies.
