Dr. Chetan Suthar has joined Amneal Pharmaceuticals as Associate General Manager – EHS & Sustainability, marking a major strategic appointment for the company’s greenfield expansion initiatives in India. With over 15 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management, Dr. Suthar brings a results-driven mindset, cross-sector expertise, and a strong commitment to operational excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

In his new role, Dr. Suthar is spearheading the development and implementation of robust EHS and sustainability frameworks for Amneal’s greenfield pharmaceutical sites in Dahej and Ahmedabad. He is tasked with integrating compliance and sustainability across every project phase—from planning and construction to commissioning and operations. His leadership is instrumental in aligning Amneal’s safety protocols with both national and international regulatory standards, while simultaneously fostering a culture rooted in risk mitigation, training, and continuous improvement.

Prior to joining Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Suthar held a pivotal leadership role at Baxter Pharmaceuticals, where he led EHS operations across API, formulation, and R&D units. Under his stewardship, the organization successfully achieved ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications across multiple sites with zero major observations. His track record includes executing high-impact audits, driving industrial hygiene programs, and responding effectively to regulatory bodies, especially during critical times like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Suthar’s academic credentials include a Master’s in Industrial Hygiene and Safety from ISTAR (in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati, USA), along with certifications from NEBOSH, IOSH, and extensive training in occupational health, safety audits, and environmental risk management. His broad exposure to NABH, OSHA, and ISO frameworks makes him a key strategic asset for greenfield execution and regulatory compliance.

With his deep-rooted experience, multidisciplinary knowledge, and a passion for safety leadership, Dr. Chetan Suthar’s appointment signals Amneal Pharmaceuticals’ strong commitment to building a safe, sustainable, and future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.
