Manu Kapoor Joins Essar Group as Group Chief of Public Policy and Corporate Affairs

Manu Kapoor has taken on a new role as the Group Chief of Public Policy and Corporate Affairs at Essar Group. With over three decades of experience, Manu’s extensive background aligns perfectly with his new responsibilities. He has built a reputation as an expert in managing corporate relations, communications, and public affairs for leading organizations globally. His experience spans regions including the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Russia, CIS, Eastern Europe, Baltics, and Asia.

In his new role at Essar, Manu Kapoor will lead efforts to foster strategic relationships and engage with key stakeholders, including businesses, regulatory authorities, policymakers, and media. His appointment is expected to contribute significantly to Essar Group’s ongoing growth, particularly in expanding its initiatives in energy transition, digitization, and innovation.

Prior to joining Essar, Manu held leadership positions in several prestigious organizations. He served as Executive Director at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, where he contributed to corporate advisory, policy-making, and stakeholder relations. He also played an influential role as a member of the Digital India Electronics Mission Advisory Board, which focused on advancing India’s electronics manufacturing and exports sector.

Manu’s career includes significant experience in strategic roles at Samsung Electronics, where he led government relations, crisis management, and regulatory affairs. This extensive expertise, combined with his deep understanding of global geopolitical dynamics, positions him well to navigate the complexities of public policy and corporate affairs at Essar Group.
