Amit Pandey has recently stepped into the role of Vice President & Team Leader of Wholesale Credit Risk at HDFC Bank, marking another significant milestone in his 12-year career in the banking sector. With an extensive background in underwriting credit proposals for corporate and MSME entities, Amit brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. In this role, he will oversee critical aspects of credit risk management, including portfolio monitoring, loan documentation, and the resolution of stressed assets, ensuring that HDFC Bank continues to uphold its strong credit standards.
Before joining HDFC Bank, Amit Pandey held various roles at Bank of Maharashtra, where he played a crucial part in managing corporate credit portfolios and resolving large corporate defaulters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) framework. His tenure at Bank of Maharashtra saw him rise to the position of Chief Manager, where he was responsible for supervising and driving business development at the Industrial Finance Branch in Mumbai. He managed a substantial credit portfolio, involving industries such as textiles, EPC, NBFC, and power.
At HDFC Bank, Amit’s journey began as an Assistant Vice President in 2019, and he quickly advanced through the ranks, becoming Deputy Vice President in 2022. In these roles, he was instrumental in appraising new credit cases, particularly those with significant turnover, and managing portfolios with high exposure. His strategic insights and ability to identify early warning signals have been pivotal in safeguarding the bank’s interests.
